Mr. Hughes has extensive experience working at ICL on developing enhancements to the InSite application including a new 3D visualizer, tools for velocity model calibration, array analysis, discrete fracture network inversion, source scan location and the real-time triggering of data from miniSEED files and multiple arrays.
He has also revised and enhanced the data acquisition software used with ICL’s laboratory test equipment. His expertise is in the use of the C++ programming language using Visual Studio. In addition to this, he has extensive experience using MFC, OpenGL, HDF5, SQL Server, .NET and TCP/IP socket programming.
In total, he has over 30 years of experience developing software, mainly PC based, but also hosted on embedded and IP telephony platforms. Mr. Hughes holds a B.A. in Physics from Oxford University.

Dr. Zorica Radaković-Guzina's research has focused on the areas of structural dynamics, non-destructive characterization of concrete, damage mechanics, and wave propagation. She is responsible for FORTRAN and C/C++ programming development and support for Itasca's FLAC and FLAC3D software, and she assists with the development and testing of the Graphical User Interface (GUI) for Itasca codes.
Dr. Varun is a geotechnical engineer with specialization in earthquake engineering and soil dynamics. He has experience with analytical and numerical modeling and has been involved with projects related to seismic hazard mitigation for waterfront structures, dynamic response of foundations, site response and soil-structure interaction.
Dr. Chéng is a geomechanics engineer with academic background in numerical modeling and geotechnical engineering and is a licensed Professional Engineer in California. He has research experience in the coupling of porous media and fluids, liquefaction models, and soil and rock mechanics. Zhao has performed many geotechnical projects on seismic-hazard evaluation, earthquake-soil-structure interaction on bridges, tunnels, underground structures, dams, slopes, and highways. He actively participated in the seismic retrofits on several toll bridges in the state of California.
Mr. Augusto Lucarelli (Tentative) has a background in soil mechanics, numerical modeling of geotechnical processes, shallow and deep foundation design, soil improvement, slope stability, mechanized excavation, conventional tunneling in urban areas, deep excavation and support structures in difficult environments. He has numerical software experience in FLAC, FLAC3D, UDEC, Plaxis2D, Plaxis3D Foundations, Plaxis3D Tunnel, Excel and Excel VBA programming, and Autocad.
