Seismic Monitoring Array Analysis
The confidence level of the results from recorded microseismicity relies on the sensitivity and coverage of the seismic array. For a design study, a three-dimensional analysis of the site to be monitored is performed to give the most optimal positioning of a sensor array through analyzing the effect of the array geometry and the presence of mining voids on magnitude sensitivity, location error and potential shadow zones.
Microseismic Processing and Quality Control
We can add-value to your existing microseismic catalog. Reviewing data in a 3D visualizer through time can show patterns and trends in microseismic activity caused by mining operations. Adding source parameter visualization to the display adds an additional interpretation factor for the events. Seismic event rates, event density and released energy measurements can be used to analyse failure of slopes. The data review will quantify the microseismic deformation for a portion of the data set.
We offer a full range of post-processing and re-processing using complex algorithms capable of varying velocity in three-dimensions to model the structures in the mine.

Advanced Processing and Interpretation
Analysis of fracture network geometry provides a method to interpret seismic activity in terms of fractures and quantify the orientation. The statistical analysis of the located microseismic events in the catalog reveals the structure underlying the seismic cloud. This can be further interpreted to obtain information about the orientation, persistence and spacing of the main macrofractures induced or mobilized during the mining operations.
Source mechanisms can be displayed as focal sphere plots or as Hudson T-k plots allowing events to be related to one another and to known source types. Provides additional information about the geomechanics causing the microseismic activity to happen.
Calculation of waveform source vector from the S-wave plane polarization for events with noisy or poorly defined P-wave arrivals. Depending upon the nature of the S-wave polarization due to transmission effects, either the full source vector or the plane containing the source vector is directly estimated.
